Members of Hatter Institute staff and several students participated in the recently held South African Heart Association Congress at Sun City. Our Postdocotoral Fellow, Dr Sarah Pedretti, received the award for Best Oral Presentation in the Basic Science Session for her abstract entitled “HDL/Sphingosine-1-Phosphate protects SAFELY: a potential role of the mitochondria in conferring cardioprotection”.
Professor Karen Sliwa was appointed Vice-President of the South African Heart Association.
